Re: Phantom gallery

You set this in the template ini ...
You need to look at the template dir your using and then open the template ini in a text editor and set the amount to what you would like to show on a page.

you will see some settings like this.

thumb_number_gallery = 10
;Maximum number of galleries to show on one gallery page.

Re: Phantom gallery

Sorry...no automatic notification of new post & also had problems with log in/password yikesS

smile I have changed that to get all the photos to show, but why doesn't it create a second page with a link to the next page?

Just say I have 100 photos...I would like 5 pages of 20 & not 1 page of 100

Am I explaining this any better? lol

Thanks

Hi again (sorry just found the tick box to subscribe to this thread doh) smile
I get the Viewed: 2169 times

Previous | Up | Next

But not the

Showing 1-8 of 21 | Next 8

Guess it was striped by my paid helper. sad

Didn't get any answers back about what was done/not done so have gone live with it as is 'cos I can't figure it out?

Please could you look & see what I'm missing code wise & where to add so I get this feature back please.  As I said before I'm guessing it's the default as it doesn't look like the others...but I may be wrong?

Also could you advise on why my columns & rows are not being properly filled (ie the phantom pictures/spaces)

Thanks so much ... much appreciated

Re: Phantom gallery

well you are using the default template and not a very good choice for this type layout in my opin ...

I think you would be better off with my Neat2 template as it calculates the next number based on what is actualy next unlike the other templates that only use the number you set ...

see here in our lab http://sgal-lab.primaveraphoto.com/view … llery=test

also this is not making seperate cels its making what seems to be seperate tables and then as it wraps it pops the table down a row so you get waht looks like a blank spot however its not. it is just a table that popped down to the next line.

Not sure what he did but its kind not going to work I would try Neat2 as far as numbers go he edited the template so just re edit it or replace it with the original ... again its a bad choice i would just rename the old template try loading the Neat2 template and just rename it to what he named the other template as its in osc and has been renamed just do the same making sure that you change the name of his so as not to overwrite it then just rename the neat template to the same name he used i think its oscommerce ...

let us know what happens.

Re: Phantom gallery

Hi DC

Slightly confused but found this:
1. In singapore.ini - look for:
default_template = "Default-template-name"
     ;the name of the template to use when none is specified
So if I change this to Neat2 & it is in my templates folder it should use that with the images I already have uploaded? Or will it just show the Neat2 gallery without using my existing pictures/galleries?

When you mentioned tables I though I could see if I could check that out (hadn't thought of it before) but cannot see anything on the page the SGAL is situated so ??
I was wondering if they way it is integrated into OSC has been the cause?
I'm worried about completely messing up my gallery. sad

Will back up!! AND thanks for your help. smile

Re: Phantom gallery

I would just re-name his and then re-name Neat to what his was and it should then load Neat2, try that and you shouldn't mess up anything. I feel it will either work or it will not as I am not realy shure what the other guy did, so I feel its best to see if we can get neat to load in place of what the other guy did.

So if the template in use Is oscommerce just re-name Neat to this and then re-name the one you are using to old-oscommerce
and it should load the Neat template as we are telling it Neat is oscommerce. I think thats what he called the template.

This way you will not need to change the name in the ini as we will use whatever name he did as our match.

Understand what im saying?

Re: Phantom gallery

Hi DC

Yes I did that & ...ummm it nearly worked.
Difficult to explain as I have put it back, but it lost the css of my site ie the page went all white except for the header & the yellow box headers. It also put my old heder with the Galeery wording over it in the middle column under You are here: Categories. I didn't change anything else other than you said.

The site was stretched but I think that could be tweeked with the column number & a few bits to remove ie template & language dropdown menu.

Do you have any suggestions where I should compare files to see how the old template allowed existing css & why neat2 doesn't please?
Thanks

Re: Phantom gallery

You said this site was not live yet im only interested in if it made the correct table cells you say it kinda worked, it does not matter right now if it streached out your layout we can tweak all that later I would like to see it with the new template in place ... as long as you did what I said and you backed up you shouldn't hurt a thing.

Re: Phantom gallery

Ah ok I see it see thats actually does work perfectly, note it says last 7, thats because my code auto calculates whats left.

I would put it to maybe 3 across and maybe 3 rows high or 2 depending on what you like. but as you see no blank spaces in each so my code does work you just will need to set up the correct css use my css as a start.

go in to the template ini and set this making sure you read how it works carefully.

try that.

Re: Phantom gallery

Hi
Changed the template.ini but the site is still stretched? I thought with only 3 columns it would come back in but it appears to have stayed the same.

Also totally unsure of how to get the css of the rest of the site back on this page?

Thanks for your time.

Re: Phantom gallery

Guessed index.tpl.php & did this

//include footer file

//include $sg->config->base_path.$sg->config->pathto_current_template."footer.tpl.php";

?>
The footer has gone but the site is still stretched?
