How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

Does anybody have a solution for me to integrate a slideshow to the gallery. Even if it is javascript it would be very useful for me.

thanks in advance

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

I think there is a post about this somewhere in the old sourceforge forums or maybe the feature requests tracker. Two main options:
1. use javascript (something like:

Code:

<body onload="setTimeout('document.location='<?php
echo $sg->imageNextURL() ?>'',5000)">

note I wrote that off the top of my head so it's probably wrong but I hope you get the idea).
2. use http-equiv (something like:

Code:

<meta http-equiv="refresh" value="5">

note this is certainly totally wrong but again, you should get the idea).

Anyone feel free to correct me on the above.

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

I am resurfacing this topic because I am building a new site for a friend and I wish to include a gallery that is simple and flexible enough for our needs.  I am an old fan of Singapore gallery, thats why I am here.

The problem is for the last 4 days I have relentlessly sifted through php scripts, javascripts and flash wigits looking for a simple yet slick slideshow that will work with multiple folder/subfolders. I am having a hell of a time trying to find one that does this.

Tamlyn, I understand that you didn't want to include something like this in Singapore, but your smarter then me.  I have no idea how I can do this.  The code you posted above is all greek to me.  I just need a cut & paste solution here.

If you know of a multi-folder/cross-browser slideshow (with fading....oooooh) that will work with Singapore Gallery, please please tell me.  Ideally, the slideshow could be be called through an iframe all by itself so I can put it anywhere on a site (like a module).

Your assistance with this is sooooo appreciated!!  By the way, if you made a slideshow hack or module for users to download, I bet you would be pleasntly suprised how many people would download and use it.

are you guys making fun of my request?  I really don't expect you to write something like this just for me or anything.  I just thought you might know of a good slideshow that might work?

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

oh... I didn't even see that post. Thanks for doing this Tamlyn.

I tried to make the slideshow work for 9.11 no luck.  I downloaded and installed pre10 and it still didn't work for me.  It would be cool if you would modify it for 9.11 cause that is what several of my sites are already using.

pretty please?

How long did you try making it work?

I'm sure you are a smart guy, who could probably figure it out...

Then you can add to the guide too! smile

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

i tried the guide and it's working great except that the slideshow would loop forever. adding a check in the body code of header.tpl.php fixed this. basically changing

Code:

<body
  <?php
    if($_REQUEST['action'] == 'slideshow')
      echo 'onload="setTimeout(\'document.location=\\\''.$sg->imageNextURL().'&amp;action=slideshow\\\'\', 5000)"';
  ?>
>

to

Code:

<body
  <?php
    if($_REQUEST['action'] == 'slideshow')
      if($sg->imageHasNext())
        echo 'onload="setTimeout(\'document.location=\\\''.$sg->imageNextURL().'&amp;action=slideshow\\\'\', 5000)"';
  ?>
