Cool! Yeah why not add it to the wiki. Either by modifying the existing guide or setting up a new page as a kind of 'advanced slideshow'.

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

Is there a way to keep the slideshow centered on the image as it goes through the slideshow?

I have a large header with a banner and crumbline. When someone clicks the Slideshow everytime a new image loads it jumps to the top of the page causing the person to have to scroll down to see the next image.

I thought maybe a type of anchor but not sure how to do this... Anyone have an idea?

yes, probably if you add the anchor (#anchor) to the url and before the image it would work

Where would I place the #anchor at? I assume in the image.tpl.php

Would it be somewhere in:

<?php if($sg->imageHasNext()) echo ' | <a href="'.$sg->imageNextURL().'&amp;action=slideshow">Slideshow</a>'; ?>

Thanks for the help

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

added a guide as 'advanced slideshow' (though it is really not advanced).

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

I am curious if it is possible to make the slideshow FADE between images on FF and IE?

here is a link to a javascript slideshow that can do it, but it uses the filenames embedded in the slideshow code:

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicinde … deshow.htm

(it doesn't make that annoying clicking sound in IE either.)

What do you think?

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

No, this slideshow works by moving to a different page rather than changing the image in the same page so you can't fade it. However you could make an AJAX script which fetches the images using the new XML template for singapore and fades to your heart's content!

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

Got a problem with the advanced slideshow guide with singapore 0.10.
After doing all mods I get the errormassage:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: formaturl() in C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\singapore\includes\singapore.class.php on line 955

Line 955 is the command I inserted as discribed in the guide.

PlZ help! Thx!

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

I've come pretty far with a slideshow built into dev version of Modern (you can enable a link to it via template.ini).

At the moment it goes to a black page with images centered on it. It uses a meta-refresh to step between photos (I've used IE page transitions to give you fading in IE). Next I hope to implement JS docwrite to overwrite the meta-refresh with an AJAXy image fader that will work with FF etc and won't go page-by-page... I'll let you know how it comes along...

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

I've just posted a mod which integrates the Couloir Resizing and Fading slideshow (http://www.couloir.org/js_slideshow/) into Singapore. My version, unlike the original, will autoplay and has a variable play speed.

You can see it working at: http://tymphony.net

I've started a new thread for the mod which is at:
http://www.sgal.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5811#p5811

There are a few niggling bugs and I'd really appreciate a real programmer looking at my first attempts to point out what's wrong.

Also check this topic:
http://www.sgal.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1508

And take a look at the Modern-template, which makes use of slideshows:

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

I implemented the slideshow from the guide (http://www.sgal.org/wiki/guides/slideshow) and it works great - it adds the link on the larger image page. I would like to also allow users to choose the option for a slideshow on the thumbnail view page - How can I add a link to that page. I tried adding the same link to the album.tpl page but it gave me an error.

Thanks

Re: How to integrate a slideshow to the gallery?

I would say that Couloir + Singapore is just a great combination for slideshowing photos!!  However, I'm encountering a few problems after carefully following the ReadMe file in this mod and wondering if any expert could help novice out. :-)

My photo website is at http://allergy.kmu.edu.tw/.myphotos/
The gallery structure is as follows:

(base)
Day1 - Day1_1 (3 images)
|
Day2 (76 images)
|
Day3 (44 images)

And, my problems are:
1. When clicking on the 'view as slideshow' on either Day2 or Day3 base gallery, the total image files showing are always for more less than the total images in each gallery.

2. When clicking the 'view as slideshow' on the daughter gallery Day1_1, an error message always came up as follows (and the slideshow never started)
-----
Warning: opendir(/home/allergy/www/.myphotos/galleries/Day1_1/_thumbs/): failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /usr/home/allergy/www/.myphotos/couloir/index.php on line 51

Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /usr/home/allergy/www/.myphotos/couloir/index.php on line 52

Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /usr/home/allergy/www/.myphotos/couloir/index.php on line 66
----

I've been trying to look up threads in the forum, but unfortunately couldn't find any solution to my problems.  Any help/advices would be highly appreciated.  Thanks!!
